          The Central Inteligence Agency     The CIA is one of the U.S. foreign inteligency agencies, responsible for getting and analyzing information about foreign government, corporations, individuals, and insurance coverage such information to the various branches of the U.S. government. The State Departments Bureau or inteligence and reserch and theDefense Departmentsdefense inteligence agency comprise the other two. Its headquarters is inLangley, Virginia, across the Potomac River from D.C. The Agency, created in 1947 by President chivy S. Trueman, is a descendant of the Office of stratigic Services(OSS) of World War 2. The OSS was dissolved in October 1945 but William J. Jonavan, the creator of the OSS, had submitted a proposal to President Roosevelt in 1944. He called for a new organization having direct Presidential supervision, "which will procure intelligence both by overt and covert methods and will at the same period provide intelligence guidance, determine national intelligence objectives, and correlate the intelligence material serene by all government agencies." Despite strong competition from the military, the State Department, and the FBI, Truman established the Central experience Group in January 1946. Later under the National Security Act of 1947, the National Security council and the Central Intelligence Agency were established.     In 1949, the Central Inteligence Agency Act ( as well as called "Public Law 110") was passed, permitting the agency to use confidential fiscal and administrative procedures and exempting it from many of the common limitations on the use of federal funds. The act also exempted the CIA from having to disclose its "organization, functions, officials, titles, salaries, or numbers of personnel employed." It also created a program called "PL-110" to handle defectors and other " intrinsic aliens&qu ot outside normal immigration procedures, as well as give those persons cover stories and economic support. The Central Intelligence Agency reports to U.S. Congressional committees but also answers to the President directly. Sept. 11th, 2001, terrorist attack on theWorld Trade Center and the unreliability of U.S. intelligence onWeapons of mass Destruction in Iraq have been a focus of terrific scrutiny in the U.S. in 2004 particularly in the context of the 9/11 Commision , the continuing armed resistance against U.S. occupation of Iraq, and the widely perceived bespeak for systematic review of the respective roles of the CIA, FBI and the Defense Intelligence Agency. On July 9th, 2004 the Senate report of Pre-war Intelligenceon Iraq of the Senate Intelligence Committe stated that the CIA described the danger p resented by Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq in an unreasonable way, largely unsupported by the available intelligence. In a briefing held Sept 15th, 2001 George Tenet presented the Worldwide Attack Matrix, a "top-secret" document describing covert CIA anti-terror operations in 80 countries in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The effects, underway or being recommended, would range from "routine propaganda to lethal covert action in preparation for military attacks". The plans, if carried out, "would give the CIA the broadest and most lethal authority in its history".

cyberspace As An Educational ToolAccording to Bookshelf 98, consultation Library, technology is defined as, the application of science, especially to industrial or commercial objectives. It further defines technology as, the scientific method and material wasting diseased to achieve a commercial or industrial objective. What does all these mean to me? All of these words such as scientific method, commercial, and industrial objective do not be to have significance in my life. I always treated technologies as something foreign that it really does not have any relationship with me. Up until yoke of years ago, I didnt even know how to position on the Internet. Yes, I heard people bragging about how wonderful Internet was. However, I did not know the amount of information you can get through the Internet. I could not imagine. All I saw was TV size machine. I actually started to browse through the Internet out of frustration. Whenever I asked questions about getting certain informat ion, majority of the people advised me to get on the Internet to get the information. So I started to use Internet. Wow Have I missed the luxury of using the Internet all these times? Since then, I use Internet to do my assignments or study. I found out that using an Internet saves me time to get information that I needed. Moreover, it gives me the information I was face for with minimal failure. Now, I rely heavily on Internet to get resources and information. What do I do when people ask me questions? I tell them to get on the Internet. The Internet also has changed my life style I now seldom write to my friends, instead I send emails to them, I do not go to store to shop but I buy things through the Internet. The Internet virtually covers every category that relate to our daily life such as news, media, health, government and many more. Now, the Internet is the first place I look for any information whether its the direction to get to the places or do the hotel reservation. Eve n though, I use the Internet as my searching tool for information and use it as often as I needed, there so far are many areas that I havent been exposed to. One of the areas is the education. As a person who wants to pursue the career goal to become a teacher, I thought it would be beneficial to research the websites that are related to education.
